My paintings are expressions of the duality between the serenity and chaos within ourselves and the broader natural world. The ongoing evolution of my work reflects my recent emergence into an empowered personal realm. This moment has inspired a more fearless and fluid creative process that celebrates inevitable imperfections and harnesses the latent potential of unforeseen challenges.
Each canvas is an investigation into how the manipulation of intense colors, powerful patterns, and intricate textures may influence our moods and inspire heightened levels of awareness. Bold, primary layers of paint represent our subconscious and provide a foundation for an applied series of softer blended acrylics, which are then vigorously carved away, to reveal an activated dialogue between previously hidden hues. The resulting multicolored vestiges of paint from these mined surfaces are often combined and reconfigured into gemlike forms that are then reapplied to specific portions of the composition. The resulting visual harmony is a mysterious expression of deliberately focused tension and ethereal light.
